My Movie Pitch

I have decided that my movie is going to be about these twin brothers. One brother is the popular one doesn't really get good grades gets all the girls. However the other brother is going to be nerdy and geeky. This one gets all the good grades loves school and doesn't get any girls. But when the ‘player’ gets dumped and really falls in love with the girls of his dreams, she pays no attention to him. She falls in love with the geeky brother. The movie doesn't have a name yet but the log-line can be ‘who is the better twin?’  This movie is a high school drama type.  The movie will show how the brothers stop talking to each other and face a lot of problems. This movie is going to show how the girl is only playing them as the ‘player’ had hurt her best friend and now she wanted to treat him a lesson by getting close to the geeky brother. But what she
doesn't know is that in the end she falls in love with the geeky brother and dumps the player.

Genre

The hunger games:

The trailer shows a young girl who has volunteered to participate in the hunger games.
The genre of the movie is action/romance. This movie has different characters and each of them have a different personality. It looks like the film was shot in the woods during the colder months as the atmosphere is quite dark. some of the characters names are primrose, katniss, Peeta and gale. the movie is set in the future and it is about how America is now split into districts and the hunger games is a yearly where if you are between the age of 12-18 you have to participate in a game which tests your ability to survive.

Typography

In this lesson we learnt about typography. Typography is important as it can give a big impact to your creation.
The different styles of writing make the word pop! If you choose the wrong font it can ruin your project.
there were 11 words and we had to write the word and choose a font and style that corresponds with the word.
This task was quite fun as it was quite challenging as you want the word to have a link to the font so it looks realistic.

Experimenting With Photoshop

the reason I chose the theme of using pastel colours was because I like how the colours are bright but they have this misty texture to the colours. It's was quite easy to fill the shapes in with the pastel colours I had chosen. It was a bit tricky to get the colours of the 'fruit' to not clash with the background. For the background I had chosen a picture that corresponds with my theme. However for the border it is a different image but it is still linked with my theme. The most challenging part of this activity was trying to get a picture and use it as part of my fruit bowl picture.
Overall, using photoshop has developed my understanding of the product and I now know more functions of the program.

I hope you enjoyed this mini blog.
Until next time, bye bloggers x

Language: the title is catchy. People will play this as the Mario games are an old classic.

Institution: Nintendo created and developed the game Mario cart. The creators have made it suitable for younger children as it is not violent and gruesome, so young children can play. The character Mario was created by a Japanese video game designer Shigeru Mitamoto. He had also created other characters such as: Princess Peach, Bowser, Luigi and many more other characters.

My Summer Project- Video Game Research: The Just Dance Games

What is the project about?
My summer project required me to research a video game that has come out in the last two years; I decided to do my project on the just dance series.

What’s the genre?  How many copies has it sold?  How much are the games?
This game would come under the genre of sports. This game comes under sports because dance is a spot and helps you work out. This game has been released for Wii, Wii u, ps4, Xbox one, Kinect and the ps3. The just dance games have sold about 7 million copies for each game that means over 28 million copies have been sold.  Each game is about £29.99

Who had created the games? What company? Is there any extra information?

The company that created this game was ubisoft. The company Ubisoft had also created the graphics and the silhouettes of the characters.  The game had also created real costumes so it could be showed for real.

How was it marketed and promoted?
This game was promoted and advertised on YouTube, twitter and Facebook. The game had its own page for these websites. Although being advertised on other websites the game had ads on TV, billboards and buses. The game was also advertised in supermarkets such as Tesco, asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s. It was also promoted by having a few launch events to show the game.

Who is the target audience?
The game is mainly targeted to families’ ad it is a multiplier game so families can play the game with each other. The age rating for the game is for 3 and older as it is suitable for the younger audience and the older audience.  This game is also targeted for teenagers as the games have modern and fun songs.

How was the game successful?

The game was successful as many people around the world have brought the game. As I wrote previously over 28 million copies of the games have been sold. One of the just dance games (just dance 2) is number 59 bin the top most sold games. This shows that even though the game is not in the top 50 the game is still quite popular.

Are there any other special features in the games?

Just dance:

  •          Up to 4 players can play the game.
  •          There are more than 30 chart topping tracks
  •          From pop, rock, disco, hip-hop, and many more.

Just dance 2:

  •          Up to 4 players can play
  •          More than 45 chart topping tracks
  •          Also includes songs from around the world
Just dance 3:
·                  Up to 4 players can play
·                  More than 49 chart topping tracks

·                  A feature where you can buy songs online with wii points

Just dance 4:
  •          Up to 4 players can play.
  •         More than 43 chart topping tracks
  •          Has a workout  program called ‘ just sweat’
  •          Songs from around the world
  •          Can connect it the internet so you can buy songs with wii points

Thanks, hope you liked it until next time.

The Hunger Games: Training

So it was my third move up day lesson for media. Our objective was to create a presentation for a new and exciting game called ' The Hunger Games: Training. In my group it was me, Ana, Manita and Sarah.

As a group we had created a presentation which could be presented at the launch of the game.

I and Ana had worked hard to create a cool and unique logo. this logo also show our slogan which is ' never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.' this slogan is suitable for the genre of this game as the game is all about trying hard and not giving up. The reason we chose a bow and arrow as part of the design is because this is the main weapon used in the book and movie

The picture above shows what the front cover of the game will look like. This is an appropriate cover as it also links to the genre of the game and it is also different. The target audience for this particular game would be both boys and girls as the boys will like the action and the girls will love the romance.

Textual Analysis: Catherine Tate - The Translator

This is a video about a character which is played by Catherin Tate who is very stereotypical of different cultures.  In this video it shows why people think when they hear a certain language.

Genre:

The genre for this video is mainly comedy. This video is also very stereotypical about languages.

Audience:

This video is mainly for the age range of 20 to 40. It would not be aimed for children because most of the kids are not mature enough to view the video as, they would mimic the video.

Platform:

This video was first aired on TV, but later people started uploading it onto YouTube.

Why I chose media studies

I chose media because I would like to be a journalist or a dentist when I am older. Media studies would make me more qualified to become a journalist. As a result media will give me the qualities I would need to have a career in journalism. During this course I hope to get along with everyone and produce good pieces of work. I want to learn how to edit videos as one day I would like to create short films. In these lessons I hope to expand these skills. I will work hard in every lesson to achieve my best I can so I can pass this GCSE course. It will help me with my literacy skills; I can use the skills in other lessons to. In history I can analyze a source like I analyze an article in media. Overall I want to have fun in these lessons. I want to make some new friends in this class.
