Typography

In this lesson we learnt about typography. Typography is important as it can give a big impact to your creation.
The different styles of writing make the word pop! If you choose the wrong font it can ruin your project.
there were 11 words and we had to write the word and choose a font and style that corresponds with the word.
This task was quite fun as it was quite challenging as you want the word to have a link to the font so it looks realistic.

Experimenting With Photoshop

the reason I chose the theme of using pastel colours was because I like how the colours are bright but they have this misty texture to the colours. It's was quite easy to fill the shapes in with the pastel colours I had chosen. It was a bit tricky to get the colours of the 'fruit' to not clash with the background. For the background I had chosen a picture that corresponds with my theme. However for the border it is a different image but it is still linked with my theme. The most challenging part of this activity was trying to get a picture and use it as part of my fruit bowl picture.
Overall, using photoshop has developed my understanding of the product and I now know more functions of the program.

I hope you enjoyed this mini blog.
Until next time, bye bloggers x

Language: the title is catchy. People will play this as the Mario games are an old classic.

Institution: Nintendo created and developed the game Mario cart. The creators have made it suitable for younger children as it is not violent and gruesome, so young children can play. The character Mario was created by a Japanese video game designer Shigeru Mitamoto. He had also created other characters such as: Princess Peach, Bowser, Luigi and many more other characters.

Audience: this game is suitable for all ages as the game is not violent. It is aimed for families as the game brings the family together so they can bond and play together.

My Summer Project- Video Game Research: The Just Dance Games

What is the project about?
My summer project required me to research a video game that has come out in the last two years; I decided to do my project on the just dance series.

What’s the genre?  How many copies has it sold?  How much are the games?
This game would come under the genre of sports. This game comes under sports because dance is a spot and helps you work out. This game has been released for Wii, Wii u, ps4, Xbox one, Kinect and the ps3. The just dance games have sold about 7 million copies for each game that means over 28 million copies have been sold.  Each game is about £29.99

Who had created the games? What company? Is there any extra information?

The company that created this game was ubisoft. The company Ubisoft had also created the graphics and the silhouettes of the characters.  The game had also created real costumes so it could be showed for real.

How was it marketed and promoted?
This game was promoted and advertised on YouTube, twitter and Facebook. The game had its own page for these websites. Although being advertised on other websites the game had ads on TV, billboards and buses. The game was also advertised in supermarkets such as Tesco, asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s. It was also promoted by having a few launch events to show the game.

Who is the target audience?
The game is mainly targeted to families’ ad it is a multiplier game so families can play the game with each other. The age rating for the game is for 3 and older as it is suitable for the younger audience and the older audience.  This game is also targeted for teenagers as the games have modern and fun songs.

How was the game successful?

The game was successful as many people around the world have brought the game. As I wrote previously over 28 million copies of the games have been sold. One of the just dance games (just dance 2) is number 59 bin the top most sold games. This shows that even though the game is not in the top 50 the game is still quite popular.

Are there any other special features in the games?

  •          Up to 4 players can play the game.
  •          There are more than 30 chart topping tracks
